New Delhi: Authorities have announced enhanced security measures for the upcoming National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) examination, introducing a multi-layer monitoring system aimed at preventing impersonation, malpractice and cyber threats. Separately, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released scanned OMR answer sheets and recorded responses for candidates who appeared in the NEET UG re-examination, allowing them to raise objections within the prescribed deadline.
According to the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), the NEET PG examination will be conducted under a high-security framework. Live CCTV feeds from every examination centre across the country will be transmitted directly to the NBEMS Central Command Centre, where more than 300 officials will monitor the examination in real time throughout its duration. The objective is to ensure uniform surveillance and enable immediate intervention in case of any suspected irregularity.

Officials said the examination process will include Aadhaar-based identity verification, biometric authentication, multi-factor authentication and real-time cyber monitoring to detect and prevent impersonation, organised cheating attempts and cyber intrusions. The board has also indicated that law enforcement agencies and cybersecurity experts may be called upon whenever necessary to respond to any security-related incident during the examination process.
NBEMS has announced that NEET PG admit cards will be issued on August 27, while the examination is scheduled to be conducted on August 30. Candidates have been advised to carefully follow all examination guidelines, complete identity verification procedures in advance and rely only on official notifications issued by the examination authorities.
In a separate development, the National Testing Agency has uploaded the scanned OMR answer sheets and recorded responses of candidates who appeared in the NEET UG re-examination conducted on June 21. The agency stated that these documents have also been sent to candidates through their registered email addresses to enable them to verify their recorded responses before the final evaluation.
Candidates may submit online challenges against any recorded response until 11:00 a.m. on July 15. NTA has prescribed a non-refundable processing fee of ₹200 per challenged answer, and objections will be considered only after successful payment of the applicable fee. Challenges submitted without payment will not be processed.
To strengthen account security, NTA has implemented a two-factor authentication system for candidate login. Applicants must authenticate their identity using a one-time password (OTP) sent to their registered mobile number or email address before accessing examination records or submitting objections.
Education and cybersecurity experts note that the use of biometric verification, live surveillance, multi-factor authentication and real-time cyber monitoring reflects a growing emphasis on protecting the integrity of high-stakes examinations. Such measures help reduce the risk of impersonation, organised cheating, credential misuse and cyberattacks while improving transparency and public confidence in the examination process.
The authorities stated that the NEET UG re-examination result is expected to be declared before July 20, subject to the completion of the objection review process. Candidates have been advised to regularly check official announcements, adhere to the prescribed timelines and avoid relying on unverified information circulating on social media or unofficial platforms.
