Three Arrested for Allegedly Supplying Bank Accounts to Cyber Fraudsters

Delhi Police have uncovered a mule bank account racket allegedly used to channel money obtained through cyber frauds and arrested three people from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, officials said.

The action followed the registration of an e-FIR based on a complaint filed by a resident of IP Extension, who alleged that money had been fraudulently withdrawn from his bank account and transferred to multiple accounts.

Probe Traces Fraudulent Money Trail

Investigators examined banking records, mobile numbers, KYC details and other digital evidence to track the movement of funds linked to the alleged fraud.

During the investigation, police traced approximately ₹72,000 of the defrauded amount to a bank account belonging to Shivam Kumar, a resident of Muzaffarnagar. Officials said further analysis of financial transactions helped identify additional links in the money trail.

Multiple Accounts Come Under Scanner

Police found that another ₹49,900 had been credited to an account linked to Rajender Sharma, a resident of Tilak Nagar in Delhi.

According to investigators, the accused allegedly opened and supplied bank accounts to cybercriminals in exchange for commissions. These accounts were then allegedly used to receive and route money generated through online fraud schemes.

Three Arrested in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh

Based on the evidence collected, Delhi Police arrested three individuals from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh in connection with the case.

Officials said the investigation relied on banking records, KYC documentation, mobile phone details and other digital evidence to identify the suspects and trace the flow of funds. Further investigation into the racket and its links to cyber fraud networks is continuing.
