A 19-year-old man has been arrested in Amravati district for allegedly filming and blackmailing minor girls, in what authorities describe as a serious case of sexual exploitation and cyber blackmail. The accused has been remanded in police custody until 21 April as investigations continue.

Videos Allegedly Used for Blackmail

The case has sent shockwaves through the neighbouring towns of Paratwada and Achalpur, where multiple obscene videos reportedly surfaced online. Police sources say nearly 100 videos are believed to have circulated, allegedly showing minor girls under pressure.

The accused, identified as Ayan Ahmed Tanveer Ahmed, is said to have lured victims through social media platforms. Investigators allege that he built relationships with the girls before subjecting them to abuse and recording the acts without consent. These recordings were then reportedly used for blackmail and intimidation.

Police Investigation and Cyber Cell Action

Authorities have intensified the investigation, examining the accused’s mobile phone and other digital evidence. Officials suspect that at least one accomplice may have been involved in filming the incidents, pointing to a wider network of exploitation.

The cyber cell has also begun efforts to remove the viral content from social media platforms as part of the ongoing probe.

Superintendent of Police Vishal Anand said that law enforcement is monitoring individuals who downloaded or shared the videos. He warned of strict action against those circulating such material.

Police are monitoring posts of those who downloaded videos and are recirculating it,” he said, underscoring the seriousness of the offence and the broader crackdown linked to the case.
