A major international network linked to an alleged anti-India conspiracy has come under the scanner, with six Ukrainian nationals and one American citizen sent to 11-day custody by a court. The hearing was conducted in-camera due to the sensitive nature of the case. Investigators had sought a longer remand, but the court granted custody until March 27.
Arrests from Multiple Airports
According to the probe, all seven foreign nationals had entered India on valid visas. However, they allegedly violated regulations by accessing restricted and sensitive areas in the Northeast without permission. It is suspected that after entering protected zones in Mizoram, they crossed over into Myanmar, where they reportedly provided military-style training to insurgent groups.
Preliminary findings suggest their role extended beyond basic training. The accused are believed to have trained groups in drone operations, weapons handling, and tactical planning for potential attacks. Investigators suspect the network was providing technical and strategic support to insurgent outfits active in India’s northeastern region.
The arrests were carried out across multiple cities. The American citizen was detained at Kolkata airport, while three Ukrainian nationals were apprehended at Lucknow airport. The remaining three were taken into custody from Delhi airport. All accused were brought together for coordinated interrogation before being produced in court.

Suspected Myanmar Insurgent Training
Investigating officials claim that several crucial leads have emerged from digital devices and documents seized from the accused. These include details of foreign contacts, funding channels, and a possible drone supply network. Early indications suggest that consignments of drones and related equipment were being routed from Europe through India, allegedly intended for use in insurgent operations.
Given the gravity of the case, court proceedings were held behind closed doors. Sources indicate that investigators informed the court that the case may not be limited to just these seven individuals, but could be part of a larger international module. This has made detailed interrogation and digital forensic analysis critical to the investigation.
International Network and Security Concerns
It has also emerged that the accused were in contact with certain ethnic armed groups operating in Myanmar. Apart from training these groups, they were allegedly attempting to establish a support network for potential activities within India. Investigators are now focusing on identifying whether any local facilitators or support systems exist within the country.
Security agencies consider this case significant due to the direct involvement of foreign nationals. It points towards a growing level of international coordination in activities targeting India. The use of advanced technologies, particularly drones and encrypted digital communication, is emerging as a major challenge for enforcement and intelligence agencies.
Ongoing Probe Targets Larger Conspiracy
For now, intensive questioning of the accused is underway. The investigation is focused on uncovering the full extent of the network, tracing funding sources, and identifying potential targets within India. Officials believe that further interrogation may lead to significant revelations in the coming days, shedding more light on the broader conspiracy and its implications for national security.
