New Delhi/Munich: In a significant move to strengthen trusted digital infrastructure worldwide, Jio Platforms and 14 other leading companies from 10 countries have announced the formation of the Trusted Tech Alliance (TTA). The coalition aims to develop shared and verifiable standards across the entire technology stack, including connectivity, cloud infrastructure, semiconductors, software and artificial intelligence.
The initiative was unveiled at the Munich Security Conference, where industry leaders highlighted the need for global cooperation to ensure secure, transparent and resilient technology supply chains.
Founding members
Alongside Jio Platforms, the founding members include major global players such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, Google Cloud, Ericsson, Nokia, SAP and NTT. The 15-company group plans to expand its membership and work toward strengthening technological sovereignty, competitiveness and secure digital ecosystems at both national and international levels.
The alliance seeks to provide countries and enterprises with trusted technology options, reducing risks associated with fragmented standards and vulnerable supply chains.

Significance for India
Jio’s participation is seen as a strategic opportunity for India to play an active role in shaping global digital standards. Industry experts believe this could enhance the credibility of India’s 5G, cloud and AI ecosystems and boost confidence in data security and digital services.
Jio leadership emphasised that trust, transparency and security are essential for accelerating digital growth and that collaboration with global partners will help build long-term confidence in next-generation connectivity and computing platforms.

Members of the alliance have agreed on five foundational principles:
- Transparent corporate governance and ethical conduct
- Secure development processes with independent evaluation
- Strong supply chain security and monitoring
- Open, collaborative and resilient digital ecosystems
- Respect for data protection and the rule of law
These principles are intended to ensure that technologies are developed and deployed responsibly, regardless of geography.
Need for global cooperation
Technology leaders stressed that no single country or company can build a secure digital infrastructure alone. Cross-border collaboration among like-minded partners is essential to maintain high standards, particularly amid rising concerns over cyber threats, supply chain disruptions and technology dependencies.
The alliance comes at a time when governments and enterprises are increasingly prioritising trusted vendors, secure networks and transparent technology governance.
Impact on the digital economy
Analysts say the TTA could promote interoperability, security and common certification frameworks for cloud services, 5G networks, semiconductor design and AI platforms. This may facilitate cross-border digital trade, improve data flows and attract global technology investments.
For India, the initiative could help domestic firms integrate more effectively into global value chains and reinforce flagship programmes such as Digital India and Make in India with internationally recognised technology standards.
