“Everything I Say Leaks!” – Zuckerberg Caught Venting in Leaked Meeting Audio

In a twist of irony, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg was caught on leaked footage complaining about internal leaks at the company. During an all-hands meeting with employees, Zuckerberg expressed frustration, saying, “We try to be really open, and then everything I say leaks. It sucks.” The leaked remarks were obtained by 404 Media, which reported on the meeting held last Thursday.
Zuckerberg’s Struggles with Leaks and Trump Ties
Zuckerberg’s remarks come amid a series of leaks surrounding his efforts to rebuild ties with former U.S. President Donald Trump following his November election victory. Recently, Meta agreed to pay $25 million to settle a lawsuit filed by Trump after the company suspended his accounts following the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
Meta Warns Employees: Leaks Will Lead to Termination
In response to the ongoing leaks, Meta’s Chief Information Security Officer Guy Rosen issued a stern warning to employees, stating that there would be “repercussions” for anyone caught sharing confidential company information with the media.

“We take leaks seriously and will take action,” Rosen wrote in an internal memo— which, ironically, was also leaked. He further emphasized that Meta has already terminated employees for leaking internal information and that such actions demoralize teams and waste time that could be spent on company projects.
Meta Tightens Internal Security Measures
To combat leaks, Zuckerberg revealed that Meta has changed the Q&A format of its all-hands meetings. He acknowledged that while he wants to maintain openness within the company, confidential discussions frequently being leaked forces the company to limit internal transparency. “I want to be able to talk about stuff openly, but we’re trying to build stuff and create value in the world—not destroy value by talking about things that inevitably leak,” Zuckerberg said, according to 404 Media. Despite these internal efforts, Meta’s struggle with leaks continues, with this latest revelation highlighting growing tensions between leadership and employees over confidentiality and transparency.
