CtrlS Datacenters has signed a letter of intent with the Bihar government to invest ₹10,000 crore in a proposed 150 MW hyperscale AI factory in Bodh Gaya, while also inaugurating a ₹400 crore data centre in Patna with an initial IT load capacity of 12 MW.
The two projects expand the company’s planned infrastructure footprint in Bihar as demand for artificial intelligence computing, cloud services and data centre capacity continues to grow.
The Patna facility is intended to serve enterprises, government institutions, hyperscalers and technology businesses across Bihar and eastern India.

₹10,000 Crore AI Factory Planned in Bodh Gaya
The proposed Bodh Gaya facility represents the larger of the two investments and is planned as a 150 MW hyperscale AI factory.
CtrlS has not disclosed a construction or commissioning timeline for the project. The letter of intent also does not establish when the proposed capacity will become operational.
The company has not yet announced details on power arrangements, customer commitments or implementation milestones for the facility.
CtrlS founder and CEO Sridhar Pinnapureddy said the investments would strengthen Bihar’s digital infrastructure and support the development of the state’s IT ecosystem.
₹400 Crore Patna Data Centre Opens With 12 MW Capacity
The new Patna data centre is located in the Patliputra Industrial Area and currently provides an IT load capacity of 12 MW.
The facility has scope for further expansion depending on demand and is intended to support enterprises, government institutions, hyperscalers and technology businesses.
CtrlS has described the centre as being designed for disaster resilience and energy efficiency, with military-grade security. Further technical specifications were not disclosed in the available information.
The new facility is expected to add data centre capacity for customers across Bihar and the wider eastern India region.
CtrlS Plans More Than 20 Edge Data Centres
The Bihar projects form part of CtrlS’ broader expansion strategy, under which the company plans to establish more than 20 edge data centres across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
The company says these facilities are intended to bring computing infrastructure closer to emerging demand centres and support services requiring low latency.
CtrlS, which began operations in 2007, says it operates 19 data centres across nine markets in India and plans to build more than 4.4 GW of data centre capacity by 2030.
The company has not provided a detailed rollout schedule for the planned edge facilities or specified how much of its 2030 capacity target is already operational, under construction or still in planning.
