UP STF Officers Honored with Police Gallantry Medal by President for Courageous Operation Against Criminals
LUCKNOW, January 25, 2025: On the occasion of Republic Day, five officers and personnel of the Special Task Force (STF), Uttar Pradesh, have been honored with prestigious gallantry awards by the Government of India for their exemplary courage and dedication.
1. Amit Srivastava, Inspector, STF Field Unit, Varanasi, was awarded for his exceptional bravery during an encounter on September 13, 2021, in Varanasi. The operation led to the elimination of a wanted criminal, Munna Bajrangi, who carried a reward of Rs 1,00,000. Bajrangi was involved in numerous cases of murder and robbery.
2. Angad Singh Yadav, Sub Inspector, STF Field Unit, Varanasi, played a crucial role in the same operation, ensuring the safety of the public and bringing justice.

3. Head Constable Devdutt Singh, STF Field Unit, Gautam Budh Nagar, was recognized for his valor during an operation on October 26, 2020, in Mathura. The encounter neutralized a gang responsible for multiple robberies and murders.
4. Head Constable Rajan Kumar, STF Field Unit, Gautam Budh Nagar, was also commended for his role in the same operation.
5. Head Constable Shratul Kumar Verma, STF Field Unit, Gautam Budh Nagar, displayed exceptional courage during the operation, which resulted in the elimination of a notorious gangster carrying a reward of Rs 2,00,000.
The Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh, and senior officials lauded their efforts, congratulating them on this significant achievement. These awards highlight their unwavering commitment to ensuring public safety.
