The Aligarh police, under court directives, seized illegal property worth approximately ₹34 crore near the upcoming Jewar Airport. The seizure marks a major step in the state’s ongoing campaign against organized land grabbers and criminals.
The properties, located in the Tappal area of Aligarh district, were allegedly acquired through illicit means by two Delhi-based individuals, identified as Mohammad Sharib Tasmin and Saad Rahman. According to police investigations, both men had invested proceeds from criminal activities between 2020 and 2024 to purchase land close to the high-value airport development zone.

Court-Ordered Action Against Land Mafia
Superintendent of Police (Rural), Amrit Jain, who oversaw the operation, stated that the confiscation followed detailed investigations and subsequent orders of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court.
Mr. Jain stated during the announcement, made in the presence of a heavy police deployment, that the properties in question were purchased using money derived from criminal activities. With the court’s approval, the land has been seized and brought under administrative possession.
Police records revealed that Mohammad Sharib Tasmin acquired land valued at approximately ₹11.52 crore through fraudulent transactions, while Saad Rahman purchased plots worth about ₹21.51 crore, also through illegitimate means. Both acquisitions were later confirmed as unlawful and were targeted for seizure.
Crackdown Under Zero Tolerance Policy
Officials emphasised that this action is part of the Uttar Pradesh government’s broader zero-tolerance policy against organised crime and illegal property holdings. Authorities further indicated that similar operations will continue in the coming months, with special focus on high-value zones such as those around Jewar Airport, where illegal land transactions have surged in recent years.
The move is expected to send a strong deterrent message to land mafia groups and reinforce the administration’s commitment to eradicating organized land crime in the state.
