In a historic victory against child sexual exploitation, an international law enforcement coalition, spearheaded by Europol and the State Criminal Police of Bavaria (Bayerisches Landeskriminalamt), has successfully dismantled Kidflix, one of the largest pedophile platforms in the world.
The operation, codenamed Operation Stream, involved authorities from over 35 countries and led to the identification of 1,393 suspects worldwide.
The investigation, which commenced in 2022, culminated in a series of coordinated action weeks from March 10 to March 23, 2025. The crackdown resulted in the arrests of 79 individuals, the seizure of over 3,000 electronic devices, and most importantly, the protection of 39 children from further harm.

Authorities revealed that Kidflix, which was established in 2021, rapidly became a hub for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The platform boasted a staggering 1.8 million users worldwide and facilitated the upload and distribution of 91,000 unique CSAM videos, amounting to an appalling 6,288 hours of footage. Unlike many other illicit platforms, Kidflix allowed offenders to stream CSAM directly rather than just download it.
Kidflix operated on an elaborate cryptocurrency-based payment model. Users purchased tokens to access content, while those who uploaded, categorized, and verified video descriptions were rewarded with additional tokens. This incentivized the continued spread of child exploitation material, making it one of the most sophisticated CSAM platforms ever dismantled.
On March 11, 2025, in a joint operation between German and Dutch authorities, the platform’s server, which still contained 72,000 videos, was seized. The takedown marks one of the largest child sexual exploitation investigations ever led by Europol’s European Cybercrime Centre (EC3).

Despite criminals exploiting digital anonymity, Europol’s advanced forensic capabilities and intelligence-sharing networks played a crucial role in tracking down offenders. Many of the identified suspects were repeat offenders with prior criminal records in Europol’s databases, reinforcing the persistent threat of online child exploitation.
Authorities have warned that child sexual exploitation (CSE) is one of the most pressing security concerns in the EU, as highlighted in the recent EU Serious Organised Crime Threat Assessment (EU-SOCTA) report. With technological advancements providing predators with borderless platforms to exploit children, law enforcement agencies remain steadfast in their commitment to combating these heinous crimes.
Operation Stream stands as the largest child sexual exploitation crackdown Europol has ever undertaken. Europol’s analysts played a pivotal role in supporting national agencies by meticulously analyzing thousands of CSAM files, cross-checking databases, and facilitating intelligence exchanges among participating nations.
Europol continues to lead initiatives such as the Stop Child Abuse – Trace An Object campaign, which seeks public assistance in identifying objects from CSAM images to locate victims. Moreover, Europol hosts biannual Victim Identification Taskforces, helping law enforcement globally rescue and protect children.
This unprecedented operation was made possible through collaborative efforts of 38 countries, including:
- Europe: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Poland, and Sweden, among others.
- North America: United States (Homeland Security Investigations), Canada (Royal Canadian Mounted Police, National Child Exploitation Crime Centre).
- Oceania: Australia (Australian Federal Police), New Zealand Police.
- South America: Colombia (National Police of Colombia, Criminal Investigation and Interpol Directorate).

Law enforcement agencies across continents reaffirm their commitment to eradicating online child exploitation and bringing perpetrators to justice.
While Operation Stream has delivered a significant blow to global child exploitation networks, authorities caution that the battle is far from over. Digital platforms continue to be misused by predators, making cyber vigilance and international cooperation paramount in safeguarding children worldwide.
As investigators continue to analyze evidence and track down remaining offenders, Europol urges citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspected CSAM activities. No place is safe for criminals online, and law enforcement will continue to hunt them down.
