Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, speaking at the SHIELD Cyber Security Conclave 2025 at HICC Hyderabad, underscored the urgent need to secure the digital landscape against rising cyber threats. He emphasized that cybercrime poses a significant threat to the economy and citizens, making cybersecurity a mission-critical priority for the state. The CM outlined Telangana’s vision to become a cyber-secure business hub, reinforcing collaboration between police, academia, and industry to combat digital threats effectively.

The CM officially launched the Cyber Fusion Centres, calling it a major milestone in Telangana’s cyber defense strategy and also spoke about the dangers of deepfakes and misinformation, acknowledging that disinformation campaigns can destabilize economies and influence public sentiment. Highlighting Telangana’s strategic importance in the global cybersecurity sector, Revanth Reddy reaffirmed the state’s commitment to strengthening its digital infrastructure and ensuring robust cyber governance.

Cyber Fusion Centres Launched to Strengthen Digital Security

During the event, IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu acknowledged that Hyderabad and Cyberabad have gained global recognition as cybersecurity hubs, and the world is closely watching the region’s advancements in digital security.

The IT Minister shed light on the dual-edged nature of technology, stating that while it has brought unparalleled convenience, it also poses grave cybersecurity risks. He noted that cyber frauds account for an annual loss of Rs 15,000 crores in India, warning that the digital world is more vulnerable than the physical world.

Telangana aims to set a benchmark in cyber resilience, ensuring that businesses and individuals can operate securely in an increasingly digital-dependent world.
