FCRF x CERT-In Roll Out National Cyber Crisis Management Course to Prepare India’s Digital Defenders
This recruitment aims to create a roster of vetted specialists who can be deployed when required in high-stakes cases involving financial fraud, data breaches, ransomware, and more.
A Collaborative Policing Model
“This is a pioneering attempt at collaborative policing,” a senior officer from the Cyber Crime Wing told The 420. “We’re not only acknowledging the scale and complexity of modern cybercrimes but also recognizing that law enforcement must evolve with the times by leveraging private expertise.”
Experts selected will not be permanent staff but empanelled on a need-based or case-specific basis. They may be called in for technical audits, forensic imaging, malware analysis, crypto transaction tracking, and even courtroom testimonies.
Why This Matters Now
The move comes amid a nationwide surge in cybercrime, with Tamil Nadu reporting an uptick in digital fraud and darknet-related criminal activity. Recent years have seen cases ranging from sextortion and phishing to deepfake exploitation and crypto scams. Officials believe a hybrid team of officers and civilian experts is essential to respond swiftly and effectively.
“This is no longer just about hacking or stolen data. Cybercrime today affects national security, public health systems, banking networks, and even elections,” said a cybersecurity analyst from Chennai.
Application Process Open
The official notice includes a QR code that redirects interested candidates to the application portal. While exact remuneration and role structure haven’t been detailed publicly, selected individuals will likely work in close coordination with police units across Tamil Nadu.
Interested individuals are encouraged to apply immediately. The empanelment will be maintained and updated periodically, according to the Tamil Nadu Police Cyber Crime Wing. “Apply now,” the ad urges, as Tamil Nadu joins a growing list of Indian states modernizing cybercrime response through community-involved enforcement models.
