Prayagraj — The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has adopted Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to curb cheating in computer-based examinations. Under the new system, if a candidate glances at another’s computer screen during the exam, the system will immediately detect it and record it as an attempt to cheat.

How the new system will work

AI technology will continuously monitor candidates’ activities through a combination of cameras and software. After the exam, the complete record will be made public on the commission’s website. Officials say this step is necessary to ensure transparency and reliability.

Warning for candidates

The commission has advised candidates to focus only on their own computer screens. Any suspicious movement will be automatically recorded by the system. Experts believe this move will strengthen the spirit of “equal opportunity,” as previously, loopholes in technology and human supervision had been exploited for cheating.

Increase in recruitment posts

Meanwhile, the commission has announced an increase in recruitment for Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and Havildar posts. In the 2025 recruitment exam, 2,435 MTS and 122 Havildar posts will be included. Overall, the total vacancies announced by the commission have increased from 5,464 to 5,577.

Future direction

SSC officials state that AI surveillance is not just a technological experiment but will form a permanent framework to ensure fairness in examinations in the coming years. Experts believe that as exams become fully digital, such monitoring methods will become common.
