Special Task Force (STF) of UP Police Honored with Award for Excellence in Cyber Law Enforcement
New Delhi, February 10, 2024 — The prestigious Future Crime Awards, held on February 8-9 in New Delhi, recognized the exemplary efforts of law enforcement agencies in combating cybercrime. Among the distinguished recipients was the Special Task Force (STF) of the Uttar Pradesh Police, honoured with the Award for Excellence in Cyber Law Enforcement.
The FutureCrime Summit 2024, a collaborative effort by The Future Crime Research Foundation (FCRF) and IIT Kanpur’s AIIDE Centre of Excellence (CoE), brought together leading experts in cybersecurity, digital forensics, and financial crime prevention. The event aimed to address the evolving challenges posed by cyber threats.

Recognizing Outstanding Contributions
A highlight of the summit was the presentation of the Future Crime Awards, recognizing outstanding achievements across various domains related to cybercrime, forensics, investigations, policing, and awareness. The awards were presented by Arun Kumar, a distinguished IPS officer known for his pioneering use of technology in policing and investigation.
The Award for Excellence in Cyber Law Enforcement was presented to the STF, UP Police, in acknowledgment of their relentless efforts in combating organized crime, technical frauds, and scams. Rajkumar Mishra, Additional Superintendent of Police, accepted the award on behalf of the department.
STF Uttar Pradesh has been at the forefront of utilizing technology for effective policing and crime control, demonstrating a proactive approach towards tackling cyber threats. Additional Director General (ADG) of Uttar Pradesh Police’s Special Task Force Amitabh Yash has successfully managed to curb the activities of ruthless criminals.

Distinguished speakers at the summit, including Chief Guest S. Sundari Nanda, IPS, and other luminaries such as Lt. Gen. Vinod G Khandare, Lt. Gen. MU Nair, Santosh Mehra, Dr. Nikhil Agarwal, Dr. Vikram Singh, Sanjay Kundu, Rakesh Asthana, and Ashok Kumar, addressed pivotal issues concerning cybersecurity during the event’s proceedings.

Sessions on Day 2 of the summit delved into the evolving landscape of cyber threats and the requisite strategies for effective mitigation. Lt. Gen. (Dr.) Rajesh Pant, Chairman of the Cyber Security Association of India, delivered insights on “Next-Gen Cyber Attacks: What to Expect and How to Prepare,” while B. Shanker Jaiswal, Joint Commissioner of Police for Technology, Cyber, and Licensing at Delhi Police, highlighted “Emerging Threats: A Glimpse into the Future of Cyber Crime.” Dr. Sanjay Bahl, Director-General of CERT-In, and Mahaveer Singhvi, Joint Secretary of the NEST Division, also shared their expertise on emerging threats and the intricate relationship between artificial intelligence and cybercrime.
The summit concluded with attendees equipped with invaluable insights and actionable strategies to navigate the dynamic landscape of cybersecurity, underscoring the imperative for collaboration and vigilance in combating cyber threats.
