An anonymous hacker group calling itself “Sirisium” has claimed possession of confidential data linked to as many as 3.75 lakh State Bank of India customers, according to information cited by cybersecurity account CyberPulse56.

The group has allegedly claimed access to data connected to more than 3,75,000 accounts and 2,722 PDF files. The material is said to include personal customer information, loan applications, supporting documents, account-opening applications, addresses and other application-related details.

The authenticity, origin and full extent of the alleged data exposure have not been independently verified.

Hacker Group Claims Access to Customer Records

CyberPulse56 said the threat actor described the disclosure as the first release of the dataset.

The alleged material reportedly contains information that could be sensitive if genuine, including personal details and documents linked to banking and loan applications.

The group’s claims have not yet established whether the data was obtained directly from SBI systems or through another source.

Authenticity of Alleged Breach Remains Unverified

CyberPulse56 said the authenticity, origin and scale of the alleged exposure remained unverified.

If legitimate, the information could potentially be misused for identity theft, financial fraud, targeted phishing and fraudulent loan applications.

The available information does not establish how the alleged data was obtained, when any intrusion may have occurred, or whether all of the claimed records are genuine.

SBI Response Awaited

State Bank of India had not immediately responded to a request for comment at the time of publication.

There was also no confirmation in the available report that SBI had acknowledged a breach affecting 3.75 lakh customers.

Until the claims are independently verified or addressed by the bank, the reported incident remains an allegation made by the hacker group rather than a confirmed SBI data breach.
