The Noida Authority has begun taking stern action against illegal constructions mushrooming across several areas of the city. The crackdown comes after a high-level inspection led by OSD Mahendra Prasad revealed rampant unauthorized construction on notified lands in villages like Salarpur Khadar, Hanuman Murti, Baraula, and Basai Brahuddinpur—without prior permission from the Authority.
Following the inspection, swift disciplinary measures have been implemented. Junior Engineer Lokesh Sharma, responsible for the affected area, has been terminated from service with immediate effect. Additionally, show cause notices have been issued to senior managers of Work Circle-3 and 8, while the Authority has recommended the suspension of revenue officer (Lekhpal) Vinay Singh through a formal request to the District Magistrate.

Bulldozers to Raze Illegal Structures
“Noida Authority had previously marked many illegal constructions in red. Misuse of civil court orders has led to continuation of these works despite warnings,” said OSD Mahendra Prasad. He confirmed that local police have been informed and demolition action will soon be taken using bulldozers. The areas in question reportedly house unauthorized showrooms, shops, and large-scale residential structures. Many constructions were carried out stealthily and without mandatory approvals, posing a threat to urban planning and safety.

More Than a Dozen Officers Under Investigation
Sources within the Authority have revealed that an internal probe is underway against more than a dozen officials suspected of negligence or complicity in the illegal activities. Further disciplinary action is expected soon, pending the outcome of the investigation. The Noida Authority has made it clear that it will not tolerate violations of land-use regulations and is committed to restoring lawful order in urban development. “This action is a warning to others—officers as well as violators—that such practices will invite the strictest penalties,” a senior official told.

Widening Crackdown Amid Urban Expansion
The latest action comes at a time when Noida is undergoing rapid expansion, with major infrastructure projects like the second Noida Expressway and new bypass roads underway. Urban planners have repeatedly warned that illegal constructions not only strain civic infrastructure but also endanger public safety.
