Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma has directed strict action against crime in Rajasthan, stating that negligence in maintaining law and order will not be tolerated. The instructions were issued during a high-level review meeting with senior officials, where the Chief Minister emphasized a zero tolerance approach towards criminal activities in the state.
Chief Minister reviews law and order situation
The meeting was convened in Jaipur following a series of criminal incidents that had raised concerns over the state’s law and order situation. Officials from the Home Department and senior police officers participated in the discussions, with several others joining through video conferencing.
The Chief Minister chaired the meeting for several hours and reviewed the prevailing situation across districts. He made it clear that strictness must be maintained and directed officials to take immediate steps to restore public confidence.

Focus on accountability and monitoring
During the review, CM instructed that district-level officers, including Superintendents of Police, must regularly hold public hearings and ensure timely redressal of complaints. Senior officers at the range level were also asked to conduct similar outreach and closely monitor conditions on the ground.
He directed that officers be assigned responsibility for districts and carry out on-site assessments of crime situations. Monthly reports categorising different types of crimes are to be prepared to identify trends, including areas where crime is rising or declining. These assessments are expected to guide future strategies for effective control.
Zero tolerance policy and targeted action
The Chief Minister also called for focused attention on cyber crime, narcotics-related offences, and cases linked to border areas. He set clear targets for officials and indicated that their performance would be monitored through reporting mechanisms.
Reiterating the government’s stance, Sharma said that any form of negligence in maintaining law and order would not be accepted. He stressed that the state would implement a zero tolerance policy against crime and ensure that offenders are not spared under any circumstances.
