Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, recently visited spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj in Vrindavan, where an emotional moment between the couple and the guru has captured widespread attention.
In a video that surfaced online, Raj Kundra offered to donate one of his kidneys to Premanand Maharaj after learning about his long-standing health condition. Maharaj, a revered spiritual figure with a large following, revealed during the interaction that both his kidneys had failed and that he had been living with the condition for over a decade.
Kundra, visibly moved, responded, “I have been following you for the past two years. Your videos always answer any doubts or fears I have. You are an inspiration to everyone. I know about your health condition, and if I can help, one of my kidneys is yours.”
Maharaj thanked Kundra for his gesture, replying, “It’s enough for me that you stay happy. Until the call comes, we won’t leave this world because of a kidney. But I accept your goodwill from the heart.”
Shilpa Shetty’s Spiritual Query
During the same visit, Shilpa Shetty asked Premanand Maharaj about the practice of chanting “Radha” as a spiritual remedy. Maharaj explained that the act of chanting can help devotees overcome problems and find inner peace.
The couple was seen spending time in the guru’s presence, listening carefully to his words of wisdom.

Premanand Maharaj: A Revered Spiritual Figure
Premanand Maharaj is a highly respected spiritual teacher devoted to Lord Radha-Krishna. His teachings center around love, devotion, and the power of chanting God’s name. He commands a strong online presence, with his sermons often receiving millions of views.
Several prominent figures, including Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, are regular visitors to him, highlighting his wide influence among celebrities and devotees alike.
Visit Amid Legal Troubles
The visit to Vrindavan comes at a time when Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty are facing renewed legal scrutiny. Earlier this week, reports emerged that the couple had been booked by the Mumbai Police Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in connection with a ₹60-crore loan-cum-investment fraud linked to their defunct venture, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd.
Businessman Deepak Kothari alleged that the couple diverted funds meant for business expansion for personal use. The couple has strongly denied the allegations, calling them “baseless and malicious.”
Faith and Legal Challenges
The juxtaposition of the couple’s spiritual visit with their ongoing legal challenges has drawn attention both from the public and the media. While Kundra’s kidney donation offer has been praised as an act of compassion and devotion, the allegations of financial misconduct continue to cloud their public image.
