Padma Shri Awardee and Distinguished Alumnus Prof. Manindra Agrawal Takes Charge as IIT-Kanpur’s New Director

Kanpur: Professor Manindra Agrawal has been appointed as the director of IIT-Kanpur, a position that honors his long-standing commitment to the institute where he has taught since 1996. His expertise lies in several key areas of computer science, notably in creating algorithms and exploring the depths of complexity theory. Not only has he contributed to the field of computational number theory and algebra, but his work in cryptography has also been recognized. His academic journey includes being honored with the prestigious Padma Shri award in 2013, acknowledging his exceptional contributions to science and engineering. He has also spent time in Germany as a Humboldt fellow at the University of Ulm during 1995-96.
