Mother Receives Obscene Messages While Assisting Kids During Online Studies On Zoom
AHMEDABAD: Another incident has been reported in which someone entered an online class and sent vulgar messages. On June 24, a 35-year-old mother from Isanpur received vulgar messages from two separate IDs while supporting her daughter with her online classes using the Zoom application. On Monday, she filed a complaint with cybercrime police.
Someone had already sent a threatening email to the administrators of Anand Niketan School in Satellite, demanding that the exams be cancelled. The same accused is suspected of later posting and disseminating obscene photographs of two female students.
A teacher at an English medium school in Raikhad filed a complaint with cybercrime police on Monday, alleging that the accused sent obscene communications to his wife.
According to the complaint, he teaches in a school and his wife assists their two children — daughter, 7, a Class 2 student, and son, 5, a senior KG student — with their online studies because they are unable to correctly operate the phone for online classes.
“On June 24, 2021, when my wife was assisting my daughter with her online studies, someone using two different IDs began sending obscene messages to my wife,” he wrote in the FIR.
He said that his wife captured screenshots of the communications sent by the accused between 12:31pm and 12:45pm on June 24, just after the Zoom online lesson began.
On June 25, she provided the screenshots to her husband, who forwarded them to the principal of Hebron School in Maninagar. They also requested that the school investigate the situation.
On June 27, the complainant filed an application with the Cybercrime Police.
It took nearly three months for cybercrime police to file a case against the person who sent the obscene messages.
