A sensational honey-trap and extortion racket has come to light in Mathura’s Ol area, where a millionaire farmer was allegedly lured into a trap by a woman and her associates, including a village pradhan and two police personnel, and threatened with a false rape case unless he paid ₹5 lakh.

Following the victim’s complaint, the Ol police outpost in-charge and a constable have been suspended, while an FIR has been registered against five accused — the woman, her accomplice, the village pradhan, and the two policemen. Police teams have been formed to arrest all those named.

The complainant, Jagdish Singh of Anguthi village in Agra district, recently received nearly ₹3 crore as compensation after his land was acquired by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited. According to his statement, a woman identified as Sapna alias Rajbala approached him and gradually gained his trust through prolonged phone conversations, during which she learned about the hefty compensation amount.

Taking advantage of this information, Sapna allegedly teamed up with her associate Shyam Jat, a resident of Aurangabad, and hatched a plan to dupe the farmer. Jagdish told police that the duo initially extracted around ₹12 lakh from him on various pretexts.

On January 31, Sapna called Jagdish to Ol town in the Farah area. Once he arrived, village pradhan Khoobiram allegedly confined him inside a room along with the woman and recorded objectionable videos. Soon after, two policemen from the Ol outpost were summoned to the spot.

The farmer has accused the police personnel of siding with the woman and the pradhan and threatening to implicate him in a fabricated rape case unless he paid ₹5 lakh. Under pressure, Jagdish handed over ₹1 lakh on the spot, while the remaining ₹4 lakh was demanded later. His car was also reportedly parked at the Ol police outpost during this period.

Managing to leave the place, the victim approached Senior Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar and narrated the entire episode. Acting on the complaint and preliminary inquiry, police registered a case against Sapna alias Rajbala, Shyam Jat, village pradhan Khoobiram, Ol outpost in-charge Kapil Kumar and constable Rakesh Yadav under relevant sections.

SSP Shlok Kumar confirmed that both policemen have been suspended with immediate effect and departmental proceedings initiated. He said crucial movements related to the incident were captured on CCTV cameras, and the victim’s car was found parked within the Ol outpost premises, strengthening the allegations.

Multiple teams have been deployed to track down the accused, who are currently absconding.

“All financial transactions and digital evidence are being examined. Anyone found guilty, irrespective of position, will face strict action,” the SSP said.

The case has triggered widespread discussion locally, particularly due to the alleged involvement of a village pradhan and serving police personnel. Investigators are now probing possible links to a larger honey-trap network and scrutinising money trails to determine whether similar incidents were carried out earlier.

Police officials said efforts are underway to dismantle the entire racket and ensure accountability at every level, as the incident raises serious questions over misuse of authority and organised extortion under the guise of criminal intimidation.
