CM Yogi Appoints IAS Officer Manoj Kumar Singh as UP’s New Chief Secretary
Manoj Kumar Singh, a trusted lieutenant of CM Yogi Adityanath, has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, succeeding Durga Shankar Mishra, who did not receive a fourth service extension.
Lucknow: In a significant administrative reshuffle, IAS officer Manoj Kumar Singh has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh. This appointment comes as the tenure of Durga Shankar Mishra, a 1984 batch IAS officer, comes to an end. Despite his long-standing service and prior extensions, Mishra did not receive a fourth service extension.
Durga Shankar Mishra was appointed as the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh in December 2021, just before his retirement. Following his retirement, he was given a one-year extension in December 2022, and again, a six-month extension in December 2023, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. However, this time, the government decided against granting him another extension.
