A major controversy has emerged in Aligarh related to nursing education, where students have accused ACN Group of Institutions of fraud and collecting lakhs of rupees in the name of fake accreditation. The students claim that at the time of admission, they were assured that the courses were approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), but the degrees later issued carried State Nursing Council (SNC) approval instead, raising serious concerns about their academic future.

The issue has triggered widespread outrage among students. On Thursday, members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest against the college located on Anupshahr–Kasimpur Road and submitted a memorandum to the Additional District Magistrate, demanding a high-level investigation. Students alleged that ANM, GNM, and BSc Nursing courses were being conducted without proper INC approval.

Fees Charged on INC‑Approved Claim, SNC Degrees Issued

Protesting students stated that they were charged fees on the promise of INC-approved education, but upon receiving their degrees, they discovered SNC accreditation instead. This discrepancy has led them to believe they were misled. Several students also alleged that additional charges of around ₹40,000 were collected in the name of examinations and other processes.

ABVP representatives stated that the matter is not limited to accreditation issues but highlights a larger lack of transparency in the education system. They alleged that multiple courses, including pharmacy, engineering, and paramedical programs, are being run within the same campus without clear regulatory compliance, indicating serious irregularities.

Regulatory Scrutiny and Broader Education‑System Concerns

The controversy has raised serious questions about the regulation of nursing education and the approval processes of private institutions. Education experts believe that any discrepancy or lack of transparency in accreditation within such a sensitive field can directly impact students’ careers as well as the quality of healthcare services.

Authorities have stated that the investigation is ongoing and the authenticity of the allegations is being verified. The matter is expected to escalate further as student organizations continue to demand strict action and intensify their protests.
