The most serious situation was witnessed in Karachi, where a mob gathered outside the US Consulate Karachi and resorted to vandalism while clashing with security forces. Nine people were killed in the violence and eight others were reported injured. Local authorities have deployed additional security forces to bring the situation under control.

The protest crowd suddenly turned violent and began moving toward the consulate complex. Viral social media videos showed some people breaking the main gate of the US consulate. Karachi police officer Dr. Sami Syed stated that nine people were killed during the protest and several others were injured. The injured were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Police authorities said they are identifying individuals involved in the violence and will take strict legal action against them.

The protest was reportedly organised by supporters of the political and religious group Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen. A spokesperson of the organisation said people had gathered outside the US consulate to express public anger following Khamenei’s death. The spokesperson also claimed that shots were fired at protesters from inside the consulate premises, although security agencies have not verified this allegation.

Tension was also reported in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. The local office of the United Nations Office – Gilgit-Baltistan was set on fire by protesters. Authorities said that demonstrators attempted to damage property belonging to government and international institutions. Security presence in the region has been increased, and patrols have been intensified in sensitive areas.

Government officials have appealed to citizens to maintain peace, stating that violence is not a solution to any problem. Authorities have also emphasized that every necessary step will be taken to restore law and order. Security agencies are closely monitoring social media platforms to prevent the spread of provocative messages and rumours.

Regional political and security analysts believe that tensions in West Asia may rise following Khamenei’s death as the balance of power in the region could shift. The violence in Pakistan is being viewed as part of the broader geopolitical situation. Experts warn that the combination of religious emotions and international political developments increases the risk of such incidents.

Police and administrative authorities have enhanced surveillance in sensitive cities and issued high-security alerts at major public places. Citizens have been advised not to believe rumours and to immediately report any suspicious activity to security agencies.

At present, the situation in Karachi and surrounding areas remains tense but under control. Authorities have said that all individuals involved in the violence will be identified and prosecuted under law, and additional security measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
