Kanpur: The Fieldkhana police have registered an FIR against Anand Prakasham, co-director of Newmesh Labs Private Limited, under multiple serious charges including criminal breach of trust, cheating, forgery, and fabrication of false documents. The case was filed following a complaint by Partho Kar, another director of the company, who alleged financial misappropriation to the tune of Rs 85 crore.

Allegations of Vendor Scam and Fake Receipts

According to Kar, who resides at Kamala Tower on DD Road, Newmesh Labs was launched in 2021 as a joint venture between JK Enterprise Limited and Additive 3D Private Limited, the latter being linked to EOS PTE Limited Singapore. Anand Prakasham had reportedly been a long-time partner with EOS Germany and introduced Additive 3D into the partnership by claiming EOS Germany didn’t want a direct stake.

Kar stated that in January 2025, irregularities began surfacing in the firm’s financial transactions. A deeper probe revealed that Anand allegedly withdrew large sums under the guise of vendor payments and submitted fake receipts. However, no actual payments were made to vendors. The financial fraud, Kar alleged, caused the company a direct loss of Rs 85 crore.

EOS Denies Official Association; Director Goes Missing

Adding to the controversy, EOS Germany has officially denied authorizing Prakasham to act on their behalf in India or to sign any contracts. Kar further revealed that Prakasham evaded all attempts at internal resolution, and after threatening legal retaliation through his family, he went missing from April 2025. The company suspects that he is now absconding.

Additionally, some clients who acquired services and equipment from Newmesh failed to settle dues, worsening the firm’s financial stress.

Fieldkhana Police Station in-charge Ravindra Pratap Singh confirmed that an FIR has been filed and investigations are ongoing. Attempts to contact Partho Kar for further comment were unsuccessful, as he declined to speak on the matter.

The case underscores growing concerns over corporate frauds in emerging tech ventures, especially those involving international partners. Authorities are now working to locate Anand Prakasham and assess the full extent of the financial damage. If the allegations are confirmed, the case could become one of the largest frauds in Kanpur’s startup and manufacturing ecosystem in recent years.
