Justice Denied? Indore Man Dies Mid-Complaint, Family Says Police Let Accused Walk Free
A man in Indore died while filing a police complaint against his daughter’s in-laws. His family alleges that police negligence and bribery delayed medical help, leading to his death.

The deceased, identified as Dharmendra Namdev, had accompanied his wife and daughter to lodge a complaint against his son-in-law and his family over domestic violence. While waiting at the police station, Dharmendra started experiencing severe chest pain. Despite his worsening condition, his family claims that police made him wait at the station for an extended period instead of providing immediate medical assistance. Eventually, he was rushed to a nearby private hospital but could not survive.
Doctors declared him dead on arrival, prompting his family members to accuse the police of deliberate inaction. They allege that the police accepted bribes from the accused parties and delayed Dharmendra’s complaint, which they believe led to his death.

Police Deny Allegations, Cite Medical History
Banganga police station in-charge Siyaram Gurjar confirmed that a cross-FIR was filed between both parties—Dharmendra’s family and his son-in-law’s family—over allegations of domestic violence and assault.
During the legal proceedings, Dharmendra suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed. Preliminary investigations suggest that he had a medical history of heart-related issues, which might have caused his death.
However, his family members were not convinced. They staged a protest outside the residence of MLA Golu Shukla, demanding an investigation into the matter. They suspect that the bribe allegations and negligence by police contributed to his untimely death.
Post-Mortem Ordered Amid Rising Tensions
Following the protest, police officials intervened to pacify the family, assuring them that a post-mortem examination would determine the exact cause of death. The police have also registered a cross-FIR on the complaints from both families involved in the domestic dispute.
Despite the official stance, public outrage is growing over the allegations that police accepted bribes to favor one party while ignoring the deteriorating condition of the complainant.
This incident has once again raised concerns over police accountability and procedural fairness in handling complaints, especially in cases of domestic disputes.
