India’s CERT-In Secures Top Rank at Africa Cyber Drill 2024: A Proud Moment for MeitY

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), a premier nodal agency under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, showcased its cyber prowess at the 4th Edition of the Africa Cyber Drill 2024. Held on November 29, 2024, and hosted by AfricaCERT, the event served as a dynamic platform for global collaboration and cyber defense innovation. This year’s theme, “Enhance Your Readiness,” underscored the urgency of preparing for emerging cyber threats.

CERT-In stood out among the participating teams, excelling in a series of high-stakes challenges. These included simulated ransomware attacks, malware reverse engineering, and strategic response scenarios mirroring real-world cyber risks. Competing against national and sectoral CERTs/CSIRTs/CIRTs, OIC CERTs, APCERT, and AfricaCERT partners, CERT-In not only completed the assigned tasks within the allotted time but also secured the top score, setting a benchmark for speed and precision.
