The Embassy of India in Tel Aviv has issued a safety advisory for Indian nationals in Israel following military strikes involving Iran and Israel, as tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate. The advisory urges Indian citizens to exercise extreme caution, stay alert to security developments and follow all official safety instructions issued by local authorities.

Embassy Urges Shelter Proximity Amid Alerts

In a statement, the Indian Embassy asked nationals residing or working in Israel to remain vigilant at all times due to the prevailing security situation in the region. Citizens have been advised to stay close to designated shelters and familiarize themselves with protected spaces near their homes or workplaces in case of emergency.

Iran Strikes Trigger Israeli Airspace Closures

The advisory comes after reports of pre-emptive military strikes launched in the region, which were followed by explosions being heard in parts of Tehran and other Iranian cities. Several areas in Israel were placed under emergency alert as sirens sounded across multiple locations, reflecting the growing security uncertainty.

Flight Diversions, Airspace Restrictions Enforced

Authorities in Israel have reportedly taken precautionary measures by restricting civilian air travel. Civilian flights were diverted from key air corridors, while Iranian airspace was also temporarily closed through official aviation notifications. Flights approaching Tel Aviv and Amman were seen rerouting, and some aircraft heading toward Tehran turned back mid-route due to the security situation.

24-Hour Helpline Activated for Indians

Indian officials have requested nationals to strictly follow safety guidelines issued by Israel’s Home Front Command and other local authorities. Updated emergency guidance can be accessed through official Israeli safety information portals. The Embassy has also advised people to avoid all non-essential travel within Israel until further notice.

Citizens living in Israel have been encouraged to monitor local news channels, official government announcements and emergency alert systems regularly. In case of sudden security threats, Indians have been asked to move to nearby shelters and remain in protected areas rather than travelling outside.

The Indian Embassy has also activated its 24-hour emergency helpline for nationals who may require assistance during the crisis. The Embassy said it is maintaining close coordination with Israeli authorities and will continue issuing updates if the security situation changes.

The warning comes amid broader geopolitical tensions in West Asia following recent military exchanges between regional powers. Analysts believe that any further escalation could have wider implications for international security and energy markets.

Meanwhile, global diplomatic efforts are reportedly continuing to de-escalate tensions in the region. Several countries have urged restraint and called for dialogue to prevent the conflict from expanding into a larger regional war.

Indian authorities have reiterated that safety of its citizens abroad remains a priority and urged all nationals in the region to stay informed, follow official instructions and avoid unnecessary movement during the current security alert period.
