A shocking case of honey trap and extortion has come to light from Jhansi’s Sipri Bazar area, where a contractor was allegedly blackmailed by a woman and her two accomplices. The trio reportedly extorted ₹30 lakh from the victim and then demanded an additional ₹70 lakh, threatening to implicate him in a false rape case if he refused.

How the Trap Was Set
According to the victim’s son, Aman Agarwal, his father Sanjeev Agarwal had employed one of the accused, Ram Milan Vishwakarma, as a laborer. Over time, Ram Milan gained his trust and began handling financial transactions. In 2014, he introduced a woman with a young daughter, claiming she was abandoned by her husband and needed work. Sanjeev employed her and another man, Arvind Yadav, not realizing that all three were conspiring against him.
Extortion and Threats
The woman and her accomplices allegedly began blackmailing Sanjeev, threatening to frame him in a rape case if he didn’t comply with their demands. Initially, they forced him to pay ₹30 lakh. Later, they snatched his mobile phone and ₹10,000 in cash, and escalated their demands by asking for ₹70 lakh more. Under immense psychological pressure, Sanjeev suffered a heart attack and is currently undergoing treatment at a Delhi hospital.
Past Pattern of Exploitation
The FIR also reveals that this was not the woman’s first case of honey trap extortion. In 2010, she had allegedly trapped a cinema hall owner in a similar manner, extorting lakhs from him before abandoning him. Reports suggest she has targeted multiple men using the same modus operandi.
Police Action
Jhansi police have registered a case against the three accused under charges of blackmail and extortion. An investigation is underway to track their activities and uncover the extent of the racket. Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant against such traps that exploit trust and fear for financial gain.
