High Court Temporarily Grants Bail to Cybercrime Accused for Wedding
The Bombay High Court has granted temporary bail to Shivam Rajesh Tiwari, who is accused in a cybercrime case, to allow him to get married on January 16, 2025. Tiwari was arrested by the cyber police station in Shivajinagar, Pune, in December, 2024, for allegedly creating fake bank accounts and committing financial fraud.
Allegations Against Tiwari
According to the police, Tiwari worked as a customer service executive for NIC Tech Pvt Ltd in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh. While his role involved assisting customers with opening bank accounts and providing banking services, he allegedly created two fake accounts and, with the help of accomplices, engaged in financial fraud.

Defense Arguments
Tiwari’s legal team, comprising Advocates Satyavrat Joshi, Vijaysingh Thombre, and Digvijaysingh Thombre, argued that Tiwari was an authorized employee of NIC Tech Pvt Ltd and that opening bank accounts was a legitimate part of his job responsibilities. They also informed the court that Tiwari’s marriage date had been fixed well before his arrest.
Court’s Decision
After considering the arguments, the court granted Tiwari temporary bail for two weeks to facilitate his marriage. He has been instructed to surrender to the court on January 28, 2025. The next hearing in the case has been scheduled for January 31.
This decision allows Tiwari to fulfill his personal obligations while ensuring he remains answerable to the ongoing investigation and legal proceedings.
