Getting Spam Messages, Use This Website To Track Who Is Sending You SMS
NEW DELHI: Customers can learn about the sender of commercial and government awareness communications thanks to the Header Information Portal.
This portal may also assist other principal entities in determining whether any look-alike headers have been registered by another entity. Anyone can query a specific header or download the entire list.
The TRAI has published a list of registered entities’ names and SMS headers used for sending commercial communication, unsolicited commercial communication (UCC), or unwanted spam SMSs.

This will assist subscribers in filing complaints against telemarketers who used the short message service (SMS) to send messages.
These headers are preceded by two alpha characters separated by a hyphen, which are used to identify originating access providers (OAP).
At the moment, headers are assigned with a fixed length of six alphanumeric characters and a total of nine characters including prefixes and separators. For example, VM-DOTMUM, where V represents the TSP Vodafone, M represents its service area Mumbai, and DoT represents the Mumbai Department of Telecommunications.
