Gaya. A government school teacher in Bihar’s Gaya district has filed a serious complaint against three individuals, alleging that she was cheated of nearly ₹15 lakh and sexually exploited after being lured with the promise of securing an MLC (Legislative Council) seat. A case has been registered at Kotwali police station in the matter.

Political Influence Claim Made

According to the complaint, the accused have been identified as Prakash (also referred to as Prahlad), Gangaram, and Krishna, all residents of Buxar district. The victim stated that she first came in contact with Prakash, a teacher, who added her to a WhatsApp group and claimed to have strong political connections that could help her secure an MLC seat from the teachers’ constituency.

The complaint further alleges that in February 2024, she was called to a meeting in Varanasi, where she was allegedly given a drink laced with a toxic or sedative substance. After losing consciousness, she was allegedly sexually assaulted, and the act was recorded on video.

Video Blackmail Alleged

The victim has alleged that after the incident, the accused used the recorded video to repeatedly threaten and blackmail her. She further stated that she was pressured to pay money under the threat that the video would be made public.

Over a period of time, she claims she transferred nearly ₹15 lakh to the accused through multiple transactions due to continuous intimidation and psychological pressure. Despite the payments, the threats and extortion allegedly continued, leaving her under severe mental stress.

Following her complaint, police registered a case under relevant sections and initiated an investigation. Officials stated that further action will be taken based on evidence collected during the probe. The process of gathering medical and digital evidence is also underway.

Trust Built Through Messaging Platforms

The case highlights growing concerns over fraud and exploitation involving false promises of political influence and the misuse of digital platforms. The victim has demanded strict action against the accused and justice in the matter.

Preliminary findings suggest that the accused allegedly executed a planned scheme by first building trust through social media and messaging platforms, offering assurances of political access and opportunities. This was allegedly followed by manipulation using promises of influence and position, gradually trapping the victim in their network.

The complaint further states that the accused later resorted to intimidation, with the alleged video being used as the primary tool of blackmail. Under continuous fear of public humiliation and social stigma, the victim claims she was forced into financial and psychological submission over an extended period.

Digital Evidence Under Probe

Investigators are currently examining WhatsApp chats, financial transactions, and other electronic evidence to establish the sequence of events and verify the allegations. Experts note that such cases often involve a combination of emotional manipulation, false promises, and digital coercion to exploit victims financially and mentally.

The incident has sparked concern locally, particularly among those in the education sector. The victim has expressed hope that the investigation will uncover the truth and ensure strict punishment for those found guilty, to prevent similar incidents in the future.
