The Future Crime Research Foundation (FCRF) will officially release a landmark White Paper titled “Future Policing & Advanced Cyber Forensics: A Strategic Framework for Digital Crime Investigation in the AI Era” during the FutureCrime Summit 2026, to be held on 6–7 August 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
Jointly developed by Algoritha Security Pvt. Ltd., MH Service – India, and the Future Crime Research Foundation (FCRF), the White Paper presents a comprehensive strategic roadmap for transforming India’s cyber forensic and digital investigation ecosystem to address the rapidly evolving challenges posed by artificial intelligence, deepfakes, cloud computing, cryptocurrency, IoT, and transnational cybercrime.
Designed as a practical framework for Central Government agencies, State Police, Central and State Forensic Science Laboratories (CFSLs/SFSLs), Cyber Crime Units, forensic laboratories, policymakers, prosecutors, and investigators, the publication aligns with the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.
The White Paper proposes a national vision for establishing Cyber Forensic Investigation Centres (CFICs) across India, supported by standardized infrastructure, legally compliant evidence handling, AI-powered investigation platforms, Digital Evidence Management Systems (DEMS), Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Cyber Forensic Labs-on-Wheels, and an interoperable forensic ecosystem. It also recommends standardized SOPs, Section 79A-compliant forensic processes, advanced training frameworks, chain-of-custody mechanisms, and future-ready capabilities in AI-assisted investigations, deepfake detection, cloud forensics, blockchain intelligence, cryptocurrency investigations, drone forensics, and quantum-era digital evidence management.
The release of this White Paper marks a significant milestone in strengthening India’s digital justice ecosystem by providing policymakers and law enforcement agencies with a unified blueprint for developing next-generation cyber forensic capabilities. It is expected to support faster, scientifically robust, and legally admissible digital investigations while enhancing national cyber resilience and public trust in technology-enabled policing.
The FutureCrime Summit 2026, India’s premier conference on cybercrime, digital forensics, cybersecurity, AI, technology law, and national security, will bring together senior government officials, law enforcement leaders, forensic scientists, regulators, industry experts, technology innovators, academia, and international practitioners.
