Future-Ready Auditors: India’s NFRA & IICA Launch Specialized Training

In a bold move to redefine the auditing landscape,  the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) have announced the launch of an intensive three-month virtual training program. Dubbed the New Age Auditors Program, this initiative seeks to equip aspiring auditors with hands-on experience in audit processes, supplementing their theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.

According to an official release on Friday, the program is tailored for chartered accountants intending to specialize in auditing as a career. The inaugural batch, comprising 50 participants, is set to commence in June, with subsequent batches following the same structure.

Chairperson of NFRA, along with the Director General and CEO of IICA, emphasized that the program will play a pivotal role in honing the skills of auditing professionals. The program contains evolving corporate governance norms, technological advancements, and increasingly complex audit issues, this initiative will serve as a crucial platform to build competency among auditors.

The curriculum is designed to address various challenges encountered during audit processes, including regulatory compliance, fraud detection, and the role of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation in auditing. By providing a structured approach to tackling intricate financial scrutiny, the program aims to raise the bar for auditing standards in India.
