Tensions Rise as Soldier and SSP Firozabad Clash During Grievance Session

The soldier expressed frustration, claiming that he had sent substantial sums of money to resolve the dispute but had received no resolution. Despite assurances from the police to address the matter, the soldier alleged that no action had been taken. He also accused local police of improper conduct during a prior jail sentence related to the issue.

During the hearing, the soldier became agitated and raised his voice. SSP Dixit, who was listening to grievances, advised the soldier to remain calm and discuss the matter peacefully. However, the soldier refused to relent, leading to a heated exchange. Witnesses reported that the argument became so intense that it drew the attention of nearby police officers, who stepped in to de-escalate the situation. Eventually, the soldier was calmed down, and he later submitted a written apology for his behavior.

Traffic Police Officer and Constable Suspended Over Bribery Incident

In a separate incident in Firozabad, a traffic police officer and head constable were suspended following allegations of demanding bribes from a tractor driver. A video of the incident surfaced online on Tuesday, showing the head constable threatening the driver and demanding Rs 1,500 in exchange for letting him transport goods on the road. When the driver refused to pay, the head constable allegedly used abusive language and claimed to have the SSP’s backing.

The SSP, Saurabh Dixit, took immediate action after the video went viral, suspending both the officer, Puran Gautam, and the head constable, Chandra Dutt Gautam. SSP Dixit emphasized that indiscipline within the force would not be tolerated, and departmental inquiries have been initiated against the suspended personnel.
