Fake Call Center Defrauding People with Promises of Foreign Employment Busted in Noida

NOIDA: A fake call center operating in Noida and duping people under the guise of offering overseas job placements has been exposed by the Sector 63 police. The authorities have arrested two men and one woman involved in the scam. The gang was running their fraudulent operation under the pretense of a travel agency.

Fraudulent Company Named ‘Global Travels’

A complaint was filed at the Sector 63 police station in Noida, stating that a company called “Global Travels” had been defrauding 200-250 people over the past three months. When victims visited the company’s office, they found it locked. Based on confidential information, the police arrested three individuals and recovered cash amounting to Rs 6.9 lakh, along with 5 mobile phones, a Samsung tablet, and a pen drive.

Modus Operandi of the Fraud

The accused listed their fake company on social media platforms and added interested individuals to a WhatsApp group. They then issued counterfeit appointment letters, luring applicants with the promise of jobs abroad. The gang collected passports from the victims and prepared fake visas. Before destroying the passports, they would also create dummy air tickets. The culprits confessed to opening a company named “Global Travels” at H-73, Sector 63, Noida, and using fake visas to scam people out of their money. Another individual named Prempal Rayakwar was also involved in the operation.
