Written Complaint Triggered Verification Process

The case originated on June 4, 2026, when an individual submitted a formal written complaint to the Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Establishment in the Kanpur Sector. The complainant stated that he had filed an application under his wife’s name to establish a medical facility named Shri Ji Ultrasound Clinic. According to the complaint, Deputy CMO Dr. Srinivas Yadav subsequently demanded a bribe of 55,000 rupees to advance the file and grant the mandatory official approval.

Surveillance Team Recovers Tainted Currency

Unwilling to pay the bribe, the applicant approached the anti-corruption agency to have the official caught during the transaction. Vigilance officials verified the allegations, and a preliminary inquiry found the complainant’s claims to be accurate. Following this verification, the Superintendent of Police for the Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Establishment in Kanpur formed a specialized trap team to coordinate the arrest. On Wednesday, the complainant approached the officer as planned, and the monitoring vigilance team immediately raided the office as soon as Dr. Yadav accepted the cash, recovering the 55,000 rupees from the scene.

Following the arrest, the news rapidly spread through the Chief Medical Officer’s office, leading to widespread discussion among the staff regarding the implication of a senior district health official. The Vigilance Establishment has initiated the process to register a formal case against Dr. Yadav under the relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act at the Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Establishment police station in the Kanpur Sector. The accused will be produced before the court once the preliminary legal formalities are completed.
