DSCI Awards: Meet India Cyber Cop Of The Year 2021 Yashavantha Kumar

NEW DELHI: K. N. Yashavantha Kumar, DySP, Cybercrime Division, Criminal Investigation Department, Karnataka was awarded Cyber Cop of 2021 by the DSCI in their excellence award held on Thursday.

The police officer conducted a thorough investigation and used digital forensic tools and techniques to correlate the evidence and this led to the arrest of the person who was distributing child sexual abuse material through social media platforms.

The officer was successful in seizing child sexual abuse material from the accused possession and charge the accused under Section 67 B of the Information Technology Act 2000.

I take this opportunity to thank all the senior officers who have guided me throughout my career. I dedicate this award to Karnataka police,” Yashavantha Kumar said.

DSCI recognize and honour an officer with India Cyber Cop of the Year who has done the most outstanding investigation in solving a cyber crime.
