Delhi Police’s Official X (Twitter) Handle Hacked, Transformed Into ‘MagIC Edem’
The official X (formerly Twitter) handle of Delhi Police was hacked by a cyber group identifying themselves as ‘MagIC Edem.’ The incident came to light when followers noticed a drastic change in the account’s profile details and posts promoting digital collectibles. This unexpected activity raised alarms, prompting swift action by the authorities.
The hackers temporarily replaced the official Delhi Police profile with their branding, complete with unauthorized links and promotional content, misleading its 1 million followers. The hacked account described itself as “the best place to discover, buy, and trade digital collectibles.” Such alterations confused and misled many users who rely on the account for official updates and information.
Delhi Police has assured the public that the account has been restored, and the unauthorized content has been removed. An immediate investigation is underway to trace the perpetrators behind the breach. Authorities are also evaluating the security measures of high-profile government accounts to prevent such incidents in the future.
