In a significant nationwide capacity-building initiative aimed at reinforcing India’s fight against cyber crime, the Centre for Police Technology (CPT) has announced the launch of its flagship Certified Cyber Crime Investigator (CCCI) programme. The advanced certification is designed for professionals engaged in security, investigation, digital forensics and digital intelligence, and is open to Police personnel, other Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), Paramilitary Forces and Defence Forces across the country.
The programme welcomes participants from all ranks and services, making it one of the most inclusive and strategically important cyber investigation training initiatives in India. From field investigators to supervisory and command-level officers, the certification aims to build a common, court-ready cyber investigation capability across uniformed services.
The initiative is being implemented in association with Algoritha Security Pvt Ltd, India’s leading Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) company, serving as the Knowledge Partner. The objective is to equip participants with hands-on, legally sustainable cyber crime investigation and forensic skills aligned with the rapidly evolving digital threat landscape.
Why the Certified Cyber Crime Investigator Programme Matters
Cyber crime investigations today go far beyond conventional online fraud. Investigators increasingly encounter encrypted mobile devices, cloud infrastructures, cryptocurrencies, deepfakes, dark web ecosystems, ransomware operations and large-scale data breaches. Recognising this complexity, CPT has developed the Certified Cyber Crime Investigator programme as an intensive, practitioner-oriented certification covering over 40 critical cyber investigation and forensic domains.
The course places strong emphasis on operational readiness, chain-of-custody integrity, and court-admissible forensic documentation, enabling participants to confidently manage digital evidence from seizure through prosecution and judicial scrutiny.

- Mobile Forensics – logical, file-system and physical extraction, encrypted app analysis (WhatsApp, Telegram) and cloud-linked artefacts
- Video, Audio and Image Forensics – CCTV/DVR analysis, enhancement, voice authentication, image manipulation and deepfake detection
- GPS, Vehicle and Drone Forensics – movement reconstruction, telematics analysis, flight log examination and operator attribution
- Social Media, OSINT and Dark Web Investigations – online profiling, network mapping, Tor-based investigations and crypto-linked crime tracing
- Financial, Banking and AML/CTF Investigations – transaction analysis, fraud typologies and money-laundering patterns
- Network, Malware and Cloud Forensics – ransomware investigations, packet analysis, cloud log examination and breach reconstruction
- Advanced Investigation Domains – blockchain forensics, predictive policing, steganography, quantum-safe cryptography and AI-assisted investigations
- Case Management and Courtroom Readiness – evidence lifecycle management, forensic audits, reporting standards and legal defensibility
This module-driven approach ensures participants gain both breadth and depth across the cyber crime investigation spectrum.
