The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), functioning under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, has initiated a direct recruitment drive for Scientist-B (Group ‘A’ Post) positions. The national cyber security agency aims to recruit technical professionals to strengthen the country’s digital defense framework.

Breakdown of Technical Vacancies

The recruitment initiative offers a total of 133 Group ‘A’ positions across three specialized technical domains:

  • Computer Science & Information Technology (CS): 83 open vacancies designated for candidates qualified under the CS GATE paper code.
  • Data Science & Artificial Intelligence (DA): 25 open vacancies reserved for technical specialists tested under the DA GATE paper code.
  • Electronics & Communication Engineering (EC): 25 open vacancies allocated for candidates under the EC GATE paper code.

Selected candidates will enter service at Pay Level-10 under the 7th Central Pay Commission, with an initial pay matrix ranging from Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500.

Essential Qualification and Eligibility Standard

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must meet the following academic requirements alongside mandatory testing credentials:

Academic Degree: A minimum four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology, a Master’s Degree in Science disciplines, or a Master’s in Computer Application (MCA).

Mandatory Gateway Score: Candidates must possess a valid GATE score from 2024, 2025, or 2026 in the paper code corresponding to their discipline (CS, DA, or EC).

Evaluation and Shortlisting Process

Selection for these Group ‘A’ positions will be carried out on a direct recruitment basis, evaluated primarily on the candidate’s valid GATE score followed by further evaluation stages:

  • Document Verification: Verification of original academic certificates, GATE scorecard, and eligibility credentials.
  • Personal Interaction / Interview: Final candidate assessment conducted by the recruitment panel.
