Enforcement Directorate Arrests Bihar-Based Builder In Multi Crore Fraud

In a major crackdown on corruption, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized assets worth Rs 1.05 crore belonging to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rajeev Kumar Rishi. The financial watchdog took action on Friday, sealing two residential properties—one in Delhi’s upscale Vasant Kunj Avenue and another in Ghaziabad’s Kaushambi. These assets were registered under the names of Rajeev Kumar and his wife, Alpana Rishi.

The ED’s action stems from an ongoing investigation into allegations of amassing wealth beyond known sources of income. Rajeev Kumar, originally from Deoband in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, is suspected of acquiring these properties through illicit means. Officials stated that the probe revealed unexplained financial transactions linked to his name, leading to the asset seizure under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

This latest move highlights the government’s intensified efforts to root out corruption within investigative agencies. Law enforcement officials and public servants handling sensitive cases are increasingly under scrutiny to ensure transparency and accountability.

The ED has been actively cracking down on disproportionate assets and money laundering cases involving public officials. This case also raises concerns about corruption within top investigative agencies, which are tasked with maintaining law and order. Sources indicate that further inquiries are underway, and more action could follow if additional evidence emerges.

The seizure of Rajeev Kumar’s properties serves as a strong warning against financial misconduct within government agencies. As authorities continue their probe, this case is likely to set a precedent for stricter enforcement against officials misusing their positions for personal gains.
