Social Media Contact Led to Alleged Deception
According to the report, a young woman identified as Sangeeta Paswan was allegedly drawn into a relationship by a man named Hasre Alam. The accused initially introduced himself as Raj and projected a Hindu identity while gradually building trust through social media.
The report says the woman was later taken to Nepal’s Birganj area, where a marriage was allegedly performed according to Hindu customs. The accused reportedly applied tilak on his forehead and presented himself with a different identity. However, the woman later came to know that the claims made to her were false.
Woman Allegedly Beaten and Forced Out
When the woman discovered the truth and objected, she was allegedly assaulted and forced out of the house. The report says she was later found wandering near a railway station, where a social organisation helped her and listened to her ordeal.
The woman is currently under the care of a voluntary organisation, while the matter has triggered discussion in the area. The case has raised questions over whether such incidents are merely personal disputes or part of a deeper attempt to exploit identity and trust.
