Beware Of Fake Heli Service Scam For Chardham Yatra: Uttarakhand STF Exposes 35 Fake Websites
DEHRADUN: The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttarakhand Police has busted a gang that was cheating people across India in the name of heli service for Chardham Yatra. Two members of the gang have been arrested from Sheikhpura district of Bihar, and 35 fake websites have been blocked.
The STF received complaints from victims in Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and other states. The victims said that they had been contacted by people who claimed to be employees of heli service companies. These people would then convince the victims to book tickets through fake websites. Once the victims paid for the tickets, the money would be transferred to the gang’s bank accounts.
The STF investigation revealed that the gang had created fake websites that looked like the websites of legitimate heli service companies. They also used fake SIM cards and bank accounts to make it difficult for the victims to track them down.
The two arrested men have been identified as Manoj Kumar and Suresh Kumar. They have been charged with cheating, impersonation, and forgery. The STF is still searching for other members of the gang.
The STF has warned people to be careful when booking heli service for Chardham Yatra. They should only book tickets through the websites of legitimate heli service companies. They should also avoid paying for tickets through cash or gift cards.
The STF has also blocked 35 fake websites that were used by the gang to cheat people. These websites have been taken down, and the domain names have been seized.
The STF has appealed to the public to report any suspicious activity related to heli service fraud. They can do so by calling the STF’s helpline number 1090.
The STF’s action against the heli service fraud gang is a major success. It has helped to protect people from being cheated, and it has also sent a strong message to other cyber criminals.
The STF has also urged people to be careful when using the internet. They should only share their personal information with trusted websites and individuals. They should also be aware of the latest cyber fraud schemes.
