Amritsar: A man from Amritsar was arrested by the Punjab Police’s cyber crime unit for uploading child pornography videos on social media. His younger brother has also been arrested in connection with the case by the Punjab Police.

According to sources, Facebook had complained to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) that the accused were using its messaging site Messenger to upload child porn videos.

The Punjab Police’s cybercrime wing was directed to investigate the matter after the Home Ministry received a complaint from Facebook. Two brothers from Amritsar were discovered to be sharing objectionable videos linked to child pornography.

Karn, an Amritsar resident, was arrested in a joint operation by Amritsar and Lohgarh police after it was discovered that he and his brother had posted multiple child porn videos on Messenger.

According to the police, Karan owns and operates a mobile repair store, while his brother Lovish remains at large. It should be remembered that looking for and distributing child pornography on the internet, as well as sharing any videos related to it, is illegal.
