Two AIIMS Doctors Among Five Arrested in MD Exam Fraud

Dehradun: The Police have arrested five individuals, including two doctors from AIIMS-Rishikesh, for their involvement in facilitating cheating during the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test for Doctor of Medicine (MD). The arrests were made on Sunday evening, with the suspects apprehended from a car near Barrage Road in Rishikesh.

The arrested individuals include Dr. Ajit Singh, 44, of Jind, Haryana; Dr. Vaibhav Kashyap, 23, of Patiala, Punjab; Aman Shivach, 24, of Rohtak, Haryana; Vipul Gaura, 31, and Jayant, 22, both from Hisar, Haryana. According to Dehradun SSP Ajai Singh, the suspects assisted three candidates at an exam centre in Himachal Pradesh by using an instant messaging app to provide answers during the exam.

The scheme involved a Rs 50 lakh deal with three candidates in Kangra. The candidates agreed to pay Rs 25 lakh upfront, with the remaining amount to be paid after the results were released. As part of the agreement, the candidates sent photographs of the question paper through the app, and the doctors provided the answers via the same medium.

Following the arrests, police confiscated three tablets, several mobile phones, two medical course books, and the car used by the accused. SSP Singh stated that investigations are ongoing to identify any additional suspects involved in the cheating scheme.
