Firozabad: Radiologist K. Harikrishna, who had been wanted by Telangana Police for nearly three years in an alleged ₹200 crore fraud case, was finally arrested in Firozabad.
A joint team of the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Cyberabad Police and Uttar Police station arrested him near an ultrasound centre. Despite holding MBBS and MD degrees, Harikrishna had allegedly been living in the city under the radar for around three years and working as an ultrasonologist at Ganesh Ultrasound Centre.
The case relates to an alleged ₹200 crore fraud involving Hyderabad-based Shri Sairam Enterprises and several purported shell companies linked to it. According to the investigation, people were allegedly lured with promises of work orders and high returns on investments through these companies. Large sums were reportedly collected from investors on these assurances, but the money was allegedly not returned. The investigation subsequently brought several people under the scanner, leading to action against the accused.

According to police, Shri Sairam Enterprises was registered in the name of Sandhya, the sister-in-law of K. Harikrishna. Harikrishna, his brother and his brother-in-law were also named as accused in the alleged fraud case. Police had already arrested Sandhya and the brother-in-law, while Harikrishna’s brother was still reported to be absconding. Investigators also found financial transactions allegedly linking the accused to the money involved in the case.
The investigation revealed that Harikrishna’s brother, who was among the main accused, had allegedly transferred ₹50 lakh from the fraud proceeds to Harikrishna’s bank account. The transfer subsequently brought Harikrishna under the scrutiny of investigating agencies. He then remained on the run, while police continued efforts to trace him and identify his possible locations.
During his alleged period of absconding, Harikrishna made Firozabad his base. He had reportedly been living in a rented room in the Vibhav Nagar area of Keshav Dham for around three years. He was working locally as a radiologist and regularly performing ultrasound examinations at Ganesh Ultrasound Centre. Despite living and working in the city for an extended period, his alleged involvement in the Telangana fraud case reportedly remained undetected locally.
The Cyberabad EOW received information about Harikrishna’s presence in Firozabad and subsequently contacted Uttar Police station. A Cyberabad Police team comprising sub-inspectors Venkateshwar, Narendra and Mohammed Mauseem coordinated with the local police. The two teams gathered information about his movements and suspected location before planning a joint operation.
Police maintained surveillance around Ganesh Ultrasound Centre and waited for an opportunity to intercept him. Harikrishna was subsequently caught near the centre. Following his arrest, investigators questioned him about the case and his whereabouts during the period he remained wanted. His alleged receipt of ₹50 lakh and other financial transactions are also expected to form an important part of the investigation.
City Circle Officer Santosh Kumar Singh said that K. Harikrishna, who was wanted in the fraud case, had been arrested with the assistance of Uttar Police station. He will be produced before a court, after which Telangana Police will seek transit remand to take him to Hyderabad. The concerned investigating agency in Telangana will then proceed with further legal action in the case.
Investigators are expected to examine Harikrishna’s bank accounts, transactions allegedly linked to the fraud proceeds, his relationship with the companies involved and his role alongside the other accused. They will also determine the source and use of the ₹50 lakh allegedly transferred to his account and establish his specific role in the alleged ₹200 crore fraud. Further action will depend on the evidence gathered during the investigation.
