Thirteen agencies have expressed interest in participating in the construction and commercial development of proposed metro stations on the Noida Sector 142 to Botanical Garden route and the Greater Noida Depot to Bodaki extension. The Noida Metro Rail Corporation had invited expressions of interest last month as part of a plan that would allow selected companies to associate their names with stations and develop commercial properties to generate revenue.
Agencies to Be Consulted on New Station Development Model
The proposed scheme is being introduced by NMRC for the first time. Officials said meetings would be held with the agencies that responded to the expression of interest so that their suggestions could be considered before the plan moves forward.
Under the proposal, selected companies would be permitted to add their names to stations and earn revenue through the development of commercial properties. NMRC officials said fresh applications could be invited for stations that do not attract suitable proposals during the current process.
The model is expected to offer publicity opportunities to multinational companies, information technology firms, educational institutions and commercial developers located along the proposed corridors.
Sector 142-Botanical Garden Route to Have Multiple Stations
The proposed 11.56-kilometre route will connect the Aqua Line’s Sector 142 station with Botanical Garden, which serves as an interchange between the Blue and Magenta lines.
The route will run along the Greater Noida Expressway and include stations at Botanical Garden, Sector 44, Noida Office, Sector 94, Sector 97, Sector 105, Sector 108, Sector 93 and Panchsheel Boys Inter College.
The Aqua Line is also proposed to be extended by 2.6 kilometres from the Greater Noida depot to Bodaki. Two new stations are planned at Junpat village and Bodaki. The latter is expected to emerge as a multimodal transport hub.
Ghaziabad-Jewar RRTS Corridor Reaches DPR Stage
Separately, work on the proposed 72.44-kilometre Namo Bharat Ghaziabad-Jewar corridor has reached the Detailed Project Report stage. The route is planned to begin in Ghaziabad, pass through Noida, Greater Noida and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority area, and terminate at Noida International Airport in Jewar.
The corridor is expected to have 12 stations and two depots at its northern and southern ends. It is estimated to cost approximately ₹20,640 crore and is designed to strengthen public transport connectivity between major residential, commercial and infrastructure centres in the National Capital Region.
The proposed corridor will be designed for a maximum operating speed of 180 kmph and is expected to reduce travel time between Ghaziabad, Noida and Jewar airport to around 40 to 50 minutes. Stations listed for the route include Ghaziabad, Ghaziabad South, Greater Noida West Sector 4, Greater Noida West Sector 2, Knowledge Park 5, Surajpur, Pari Chowk, Ecotech 6, Dankaur, YEIDA North Sector 18, YEIDA Central Sector 21 and Jewar Airport.
