Little Brother’s Alertness Helps Catch Kidnapper, Two-Year-Old Sister Rescued

A two-year-old girl who was abducted from the railway station premises five days ago was rescued safely after her seven-year-old brother helped identify the suspect. Acting on the child’s information and CCTV footage, the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted a swift operation and recovered the girl within about three and a half hours. The accused, Raju Dhimar, has been arrested.

Accused Gains Trust with Snack Money Ploy

The incident took place at the Central Station complex where Rajesh Pandey’s wife, Chanda Pandey, a resident of Gajner in Kanpur Dehat, was resting near the foot overbridge with her seven-year-old son Pankaj and two-year-old daughter Sita. According to allegations, the accused Raju Dhimar approached the family and attempted to build trust by giving money to the children, claiming they looked hungry and suggesting they buy snacks.

Child Abducted in Sheet, Boards Holi Train

Taking advantage of the situation, the accused allegedly wrapped the girl in a sheet and boarded a Holi special train bound for Delhi in an attempt to escape. When the family realized the child was missing, they immediately informed the GRP and RPF teams. CCTV cameras installed around the station were checked, which showed the suspect carrying the child toward the train.

During the investigation, seven-year-old Pankaj provided crucial information. He told police that the man seen in the video had met him and his mother about an hour before the incident. The child said the man had given them money and asked them to buy snacks. Based on this input, the footage was re-examined and the suspect’s movement was traced.

Swift Railway Alert Leads to Tundla Rescue

Railway security teams immediately issued an alert through the control room to nearby stations. Special surveillance was started at Tundla station. Within a short time, the abducted girl and the accused were found hiding in the SLR coach attached to the train engine. After the arrest, the girl was rescued safely and handed over to her family.

The administration praised the operation, stating that quick information sharing and alertness are crucial in crimes involving children. The entire operation was conducted in coordination between the RPF and GRP, enabling the child’s safe recovery in a short time.

Authorities are planning to include this case as a study model in the state railway police system. Officials believe that CCTV analysis and local information networks can help solve similar crimes in the future. The incident will also be used in training programs to raise awareness about child safety.

Currently, accused Raju Dhimar is being interrogated in custody. Police are trying to determine whether the accused was involved in similar activities earlier. The investigation is ongoing to uncover other possible aspects of the case.
