On 24 November 2025, Quantum University organized an informative online guest lecture on “Cyber Threatening and Security,” aimed at spreading awareness about rising cybercrime trends and preventive digital safety measures.
The session featured Prof. Triveni Singh, Ex-IPS Officer and former SP Cyber Crime (Retd.), Uttar Pradesh Police, now serving as the Chief Mentor of the Future Crime Research Foundation. With years of frontline cybercrime investigation experience, he addressed critical issues such as identity theft, financial cyber fraud, phishing attacks, data breaches, and online harassment.

Prof. Singh shared real cases from the field, explained common vulnerabilities in the digital ecosystem, and provided clear, actionable steps for individuals to stay secure online. He emphasized the need for cybersecurity awareness across age groups and professions, highlighting that cybercrime has evolved into one of the fastest-growing global threats.
A total of 250 students from various departments attended the event, showing strong participation and engagement throughout the session.
Mr. Ravi Shankar Upadhyay, Head of the Department of Media Studies, was also present and stated that cybersecurity literacy has become essential, especially for students entering media, technology, and digital domains. He appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to apply safe digital practices in their daily lives.
The event was organized by the Department of Media Studies, Quantum University, Roorkee, as part of its efforts to provide students with meaningful industry exposure and contemporary knowledge.
